I was just thinking of how "CGI" (or, shall we say, visual effects and rendered graphics) has shaped television commercials. If we didn't have the advances in technology driving capability, we'd have more 1970s style used car lot commercial level quality of stuff. Easy to mock, but plenty of heart.
