Occasionally I see posts here along the lines of "all we ever hear about are people building big complicated expensive systems. What about little reliable inexpensive systems? Why don't we ever hear about people building those?"
I feel like I can answer that. My entire career has revolved around "do more with less," mostly because that's just my temperament. And it has been a career that I would unhesitatingly recommend to a bright young person, if they were looking for a career that will bring them neither money nor respect
