The situation in Syria was predictable. The Syrian army doesn’t want to fight, and Assad’s government is waiting for others to do the job for them. Neither Russia nor Iran seems genuinely interested in seriously investing in this game. American military forces are also just stealing Syrian oil and have no desire to get involved.
