Note: Earlier tonight I boosted a post suggesting Ghostery should not be trusted because it's been bought by an ad company and now lists some advertisers as "trusted". Based on discussion I see now in the replies it's true it was bought by an ad company (EDIT: Then sold to…a magazine company?) but the "trusted" claim appears to be based on a misunderstanding of an unrelated feature by the Mastodon poster. I failed to read the provided sources adequately before boosting, and I apologize for this.
