I would argue that for it to be good and a positive force, it must be true in a literal way. Christ made literal claims about being the son of God and the only way to salvation. His disciples made literal claims of his bodily resurrection. So they either lied or were telling me the truth. Christ was either a liar or the literal Lord, an argument made by CS Lewis. And a force for good cannot be primarily based on a lie.
