Curator of Mastodon.art fediblock :newt: (nprofile…ynjf) yes but it employs them in a luxury service therfore providing so little to the exosphere through there work that it can't be worth it. They get their paychecks but there not building roads or capturing carbon. There polishing somebody's Huge boot in effect. I think that article is interesting and a good concept (measuring ecological efficiency of human endevors in comparison to that of an artificial intelligence) but flawed in its focus on the jobs of the proletariat. Perhaps that is because it is focused on AI's current abilities but it just goes to show what we've focused AI on is increasing efficiency in the classic sense of the word. The speed and frictionlessness of which money moves to the upper class. The articles focus on AI's ecologic efficiency over human artwork seems only focused on distracting from this fact. But maybe I should actually read the article before writing my own 🤣
