THIS! Christmas catalogs were so exciting when they arrived, because we knew that we would be allowed to collage with them after the adults discarded them.

At some point during the 90s my mom quit reading the Reader's Digest & started giving them to me straightaway on arrival, & it was strangely profound for me to be able to cut into fresh, untouched pages. I can imagine the scent of the ink, fresh from the presses.
