Brian Cox, Jeff Forshaw — The Quantum Universe: Everything That Can Happen Does Happen
A popular science #book about quantum physics. It's not an easy topic, but I believe that the authors did well. It's got explanations, reasonable (as far as you can understand these things) justifications, examples, and perhaps most importantly, notes on the simplifications and assumptions made. It reads reasonably fluently, though sometimes you need to stop and think for a while, or just let your brain cool down. You don't need particularly high mathematics to handle it, and then, you can simply skip all the maths if you prefer.
Perhaps the best proof of quality of this book is that I've actually managed to learn something new, unmess some of my prior knowledge — and I didn't forget it all already. I honestly regret not having a book like that prior to my university physics course that could be shortly described as being short, bloody (in the metaphorical sense) and gave me mostly trauma. Now some of the stuff that was "taught" to us back then starts coming back to me and finally making sense.
