So the new willow chip has just over 100 qubits and solved a benchmark that just generates a random distribution. Breaking Bitcoin’s encryption would require an immense number of qubits. To crack it in an hour approximately 317 million physical qubits would be necessary. a day would still demand around 13 million qubits.
Prob pretty far off. Computer compounds for sure, but quantum computers still aren’t super useful for compute.
