The barely-there update to Shortcuts for Mac this year is the biggest disappointment of Sonoma. Fortunately, third-party developers understand its potential and have filled many of the gaps left by Apple.
That great, but… it won't last forever.
History has shown that that support will evaporate over time without Apple's involvement. Shortcuts can still be the future of automation on the Mac, but only if Apple actively supports it with meaningful annual updates.
