FWIW, it's a little early to know quite how a big a coronal mass ejection this X9 flare will yield & any ensuing space weather or aurorae at Earth.

But here's the last 12 hours or so as seen by SDO (AIA 335Å) in the centre, then SOHO LASCO C2 & C3 moving outwards.

The flare is seen at around 12:30 UTC & there's some sign of considerable CME activity soon after (but I'm no solar expert).
