If you ever wondered who were the first #animals to come onshore, the answer might have been a clam (or something related). Analysis of trace #fossils at the onset of the transition of animals from sea to land suggests mollusks (already in the early Cambrian) were the first metazoans to come on land, albeit only for a short period at a time.
