There is a relatively small cohort who benefit directly from promoting the Marxist trance. There is a much larger cohort who consider themselves allies, and therefore willfully engage in the Marxist trance.
Then there are those who fear for their jobs, their reputations, their social standing, and their relationships with friends and relatives. While not entranced themselves, they go through the ritualistic motions and virtue signals of Marxism to prevent the rapid and aggressive ostracization that they have seen others endure. They walk through a minefield.
Then there are those who stand athwart history and shout "Stop!".
