They're made from 50mm x 10mm offcut boards. No room for joinery really and joinery was not something I wanted to with hand tools. I spent a lot of time planing the edges and then glued them up with f clamps and weights.
The surfaces were finished with a no.80 cabinet scraper I had recently restored.
The lines are drawn with a fine marker pen. I was going to use pyrography but it wasn't done enough.
