The economic model of the internet is based on attention. this is why it's so toxic - you get paid for putting nothing but spicy troll content on the meme pages, and as a result we all drown in garbage. imagine if the economic model was based on *helping* instead. if you could make money by making yourself obsolete - productising the solutions you found so that others didn't have the same problems - we would live in a vastly different world.
