I am not an Englisch native speaker, so I have question and I hope you might help me out here.
Let's asume that do not know a person's gender or identify but want to refer to this person, for example an artist I commissioned and now want to upload said picture. Or something among those lines.
And since it was maybe just a Business transaction or one-time contact, I would not want to bug the Person again (maybe it has been weeks since läßt contact).
Would it be appropriate to refer to this person with they/them pronouns? Or would that be a Fauxpas and better avoided?
Or Is there maybe another workaround that is more safe to use?
Because I know that I have used the they/them approach without really knowing If that was appropriate.
