To add to this excellent article and point, there is a interesting co-interview with Professor Jason Box npub1rqzeu2v2r65qh8jda9gvgvrhsc4vr76xshc7pdpwe0f3jawulqpsw7vh50 (npub1rqz…vh50) about the "faster then expected" meme, particularly in relation to ice melt and his perception in why its faster. He agrees with David Spratt that it's an over reliance on models which are conservative and not also looking more closely at paleoclimatology and what's happened in the past at these levels of CO2 and Temp.

There's a poignant bit where at about 38mins the young interviewer cries at Professor Box's revelations about ice melt and he points out that " yeah, it really sucks"... I think that encompasses the situation quite succinctly.

Professor Box has a relatable way of cutting to the chase :) I remember him being interviewed a decade or so ago about what happens if there is accelerated melting of the methane clathrates in the Artic...his response, "we're fucked". So let's hope the so called " methane bomb" doesn't go off, ans it stays as unlikely, rather then "faster then expected"
