Macron was correct about him being unable to govern after the results of the EU election imo so to me this is a fine result. The voters and nonvoters in France have made their choices and now they get to live with the results.
I would have hoped that they would have learned from the UK and US in 2016, but apparently not. The arc of justice and progress just seems to have a sinusoidal aspect to it sadly.
