Oh, it’s absolutely ridiculous. The basic argument is that, by having ring-fenced funding, the BBC is protected by political interference (“Nice budget you’ve got there, shame if anything happened to it”), but given that the entire BBC staff is made up of the same metropolitan liberal elite that makes up most of our politicians (of whatever flavour) it’s also completely irrelevant.
