This evening I read a piece on allowing password authentication for SSH from the internet:

The sub-arctic hot-takes at HN are superconductive, in that they miss the author’s entire point — that in certain cases, you want to make sure that you can gain access to a system in an emergency or other crisis situation.
In such situations, you may not have ANYTHING except a random new-to-you device to access that system.
(Funnily enough, this happened to me once.)
