This is terrifying. These children are engaging in an ad hoc effort to inject an un-vetted, unapproved AI into the entire government operations. They are quite clearly on a path to violating multiple privacy regulations, and creating an enormous conflict of interest given Musk's own government contracts. The privacy and sensitive data implications of all this are enormous and potentially reach every department and agency. Also, fucking with Login.gov is dangerous, and could adversely impact every Social Security and Disability beneficiary.

It is through Login.gov that beneficiaries access the Social Security portal, which is where they receive secure messages from the SSA, access their benefit documents, and schedule Social Security-related appointments and services. In a normal world, any modifications of that system are planned out by a team of qualified and experienced staff, reviewed by senior advisors, and carried out on a test system before rolling out changes to the production system. None of that is happening now.

Some 20yo Twitter intern is now just making these decisions from the hip, without understanding the complexites of these systems, or the legal implications related to privacy and confidentiality. There's a very real possibility that 72 million Americans could find themselves locked out the Social Security portal as a result of their uninformed tinkering.
