It's a good article that helps folks to understand our foods & our culture better. We are kind of invisible in most areas where there aren't many other Teochew peoples. Some people in Chinatown here don't consider me Chinese because I speak Teochew & not Cantonese or Mandarin(although I understand a lot of both those languages). I swear at them in my peoples' language when they say insulting things to me or my family.

We're one of only a tiny handful of Teochew people on this island. There are more gaginang over in Vancouver.
