Update: wifi fixed - apparently our Comcast cable modem was ancient and needed replacement. But I have a new problem now. The router’s built-in wifi is a bajillion times faster than my external wifi router. But it’s at the far end of the apartment, and the range sucks. And more to the point - wtf, the router is a Wirecutter recommendation from less than a year ago.
