UK Government Fights BoJo Covid Message Demand
The independent inquiry then-UK PM Boris Johnson set up to probe his government’s handling of the Covid pandemic is facing a fight from Westminster to surrender full access to Johnson’s messages to ministers.
Inquiry chairwoman Heather Hallett has requested complete copies of Johnson’s WhatsApp messages after initially only being provided with redacted versions, which government officials have insisted only omitted elements that were “unambiguously irrelevant.”
