I really don't get #macos's "restore windows" feature. It seems to just remember a list of open programs, and launch them from scratch on the next boot. It doesn't remember which windows were open, where they were, their stacking order, what I was doing, or anything potentially useful.
Why would I want the system to auto-launch a random assortment of programs? And why can't it be properly disabled? Any reboot not caused by the "reboot" Apple menu option causes an unholy mess on boot.
