The Instagram feed smells the most of desperation and death throes. It's a smattering of people I follow but predominantly 'viral' slop from accounts that I don't even follow.

As well as nostr being mega-quiet. I have noticed my twitter feed is a lot slower. Is this a seasonal thing? Never really noticed that before tho.

Or is social media fading out of use and favour. Probably would be a very long and slow fade out of existence. Feels long overdue tbh, but people will log in and lurk still, this becomes less frequent. The Big Follower accounts are less incentivised with less engagement and monetisation/earnings. They eventually stop too.

I've seen it a bit on Instagram, it used to be really active with Whatever kind of posts Now it's more that people will post only to promote their creative projects or more personal landmark occasions (birthdays, births, marriages etc), or to post their activist post rent (the moral rent you pay to subsidise your posts promoting your creative work).

But with no -killer app, no one is fleeing to anything. Perhaps it's more private messenger chat groups, and invite-only social groups. Which would make it more difficult to see where people have fled(?)

I'm still bullish on the fidgetspinner revival as the substitute for the killerapp that doesn't exist.
