DEETS Like Lydia Deets on Nostr: The fifth circuit this week surprisingly held that lifetime bans on voting for people ...
The fifth circuit this week surprisingly held that lifetime bans on voting for people convicted of a felony are unconstitutional under the 8th amendment (cruel and unusual punishment). The only explanation I can come up with for this very good holding from a very bad circuit is that conservatives are becoming more empathetic to felons since so many of them are suddenly becoming felons.
