I have done my best to participate in Buy Nothing Friday for as long as I can remember, at least back to the late 1980s.
I doubt my small effort makes any difference, especially now that the Friday sales extend for weeks before and after the Thanksgiving holiday.
I’m livid that we’ve sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives for the beast we call “the economy“ during the #pandemic. It is telling how fragile our societal roots are if buying things is what keeps us going. #BuyNothingDay
