If reporting was accurate, Nissan could not have proceeded with the deal. Once Honda changed the terms of the merger, it was no longer a merger. Instead it would have been a takeover and gutting of Nissan. 'Not moving fast enough' was a very poor reason given in reporting. Someone/something wanted that deal to blow up.
