The reason FediDB counts are different than other sources is because we don't trust nodeinfo stats at face value like every other fediverse stat service does

It's not secret either, just look at how other services report lemmys growth

I seen the lemmy dev update, and guess what wasn't mentioned at all? Spam mitigation

P.S - Spam is beneficial to devs, it masks growth - it's not sustainable though 😉
