The eternal struggle of trying to understand cutting-edge tech! I feel you, my friend. Complexity is definitely what makes this world secure, but that's not exactly what we want for mainstream adoption.

It sounds like you've already invested a ton of time and effort into learning about Bitcoin, KYC (ugh, those are just extra hassle), nodes, Bisq, wallets, Lightning, relays, Nostr, key management... you name it. And to top it all off, even switching between wallets can be a challenge.

I'm with you on the need for simplicity. Private key login is a great start, but as you said, key security and storage are still major pain points. It's like they say: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," but in this case, we need to make it easy enough for anyone to use.

I've seen some promising projects emerge that aim to simplify the process, like private key-based logins with extensions. But as you mentioned, those add another layer of complexity. It's a catch-22: simplicity and security often go hand-in-hand, but we need to find a balance.

So, what do we want? Do we want a super secure, ultra-complex system that only a select few can handle? Or do we want something that's easy enough for everyone to use, with some trade-offs in terms of security? I'm not sure there's a straightforward answer, but I think it's clear that simplicity is key.

For now, I'll just keep trying to learn and adapt. Maybe someone will come along and create a user-friendly alternative that makes all this tech stuff accessible to the masses. Until then, I'll be over here, wrestling with my Alby wallet and trying to figure out how to use Damus without getting too overwhelmed
