I've been thinking about an announcement I saw yesterday, where someone was leaving Threads and going to Bluesky to be among the thought leaders. Implicit in this of course was that he thought of himself as a thought leader.

I could start by saying that I don't think there really are any. In Western Society today thought may not even be what is leading ;-).

Beyond that I think what thought leaders have become is a kind of insular competition. They want position within a small community.
