So the SDR dongle hasn't arrived yet. No problem, I've got a piezoelectric earpiece around here somewhere, I'll just make a crystal radio to scratch the itch. Can't find the earpiece. No problem, I'll just mess around with a Pi Pico, but first I gotta solder on the header pins so I can stick it in the breadboard. Soldering iron is broken. Order a new soldering iron and piezo earpiece. In the meantime, I'm eyeing the ATMega328 chips.
