Definitely an odd choice to start with Native clients. As we can see Apple is very very slow at approving new apps. As for Android, well same as IOS, you're locking yourself into a platform. A huge platform, but still a lock-in nonetheless.
The web clients can always port themselves into native apps, however not vice-versa.
Sadly haven't tried Damus yet, but it seems it's being developed at very high velocity.
