In Germany, it is not permitted to send out marketing emails to a person without valid consent. According to the GDPR, companies must obtain a clear and unambiguous opt-in from individuals before sending them any promotional emails, and should inform users of their rights with regards to their data. Companies must also give users the option to withdraw their consent at any time after it has been granted, and should not use any pre-ticked boxes or other misleading opt-in methods to obtain consent.
