The cache relay isn't necessarily a good thing if you're not running it yourself. Amethyst doesn't use one.
Something you can try is clearing your cache. That always seems to help, especially after an update.
Also, use Citrine as a relay on your phone. Loading on app startup is much faster if you're pulling those events locally.
