i'm an atheist, found a great therapist years ago who was a christian

he never pushed any religion on me, never judged, was open, etc if he had i would have found another therapist

in any case, he described a punitive god as a 'bad daddy' lol

he said people with abusive fathers often overlay that onto their deity of choice

he also didn't blame me, given my parents and upbringing, for being an atheist LOL

and he laughed at all my dark humor - great guy
