I'd support a bill that subsidized companies not engaging in planned obsolescence.
The longer your product lasts compared to competitors, the more money you get.
This would allow them to compete against companies creating junk for landfills.

Long gone are the days when appliances were built to last.
My O’Keefe and Merritt oven was built around 70 years ago and still runs better than most new ovens today, many of which end up in a landfill after only a few years.
Where did this level of craftsmanship and quality go?
