I have varied, still unspecified needs, but one of them is that I want the result of slides to be one self-contained file in a commonly supported format that I can easily share. HTML would work, but only if it's one HTML file that doesn't require the browser to load images, JS, CSS, fonts, or anything else from elsewhere.

PDF is what I currently use.

I also want to use a markup language for diagrams.
