what I really want, and what I have really wanted (and needed) for about seven years, is a drop-in replacement for Google Calendar reminders ... or perhaps more accurately, for how Google Calendar reminders worked on Android circa 2018, I'm sure Google have ruined it by now.
to wit: an endlessly snoozable stack of notifications for reminders that have come due, which never fucking go away until you have checked them off.
it's that simple. and nobody, but nobody, does it that way out of the box. probably not even Google any more.
