I don't think that would work either because nuclear plants are too consistent. If there's a surge in demand (as there would in the evenings if everyone drove EVs), the plant can't scale up to handle it. If you build the plant big enough to handle it, it can't scale down when people aren't demanding it. This is the real reason why it's hard to replace natural gas in an electric grid, because it's very easy to scale a natural gas up and down to fill whatever gap in the demand is present.
