It's quite fun that people today don't realise how important Microsoft Flight Simulator was in computing history.
MS Flight Sim pulled on the BIOS not just the OS. So running Flight Sim flawlessly was seen as THE compatibility test for an IBM PC clone. Alongside Lotus 123 which did similar.
