The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving you, (Numbers 15:1–2)
God says: Moses is still my guy.
Despite the wickedness of this generation, my promise still stands. You will inherit the land.
Michael Morales: “The land is further defined as the ‘land of your dwelling-places’ (môšĕbōtêkem), the singular use of this ascription in the HB (cf. Hausoul 2018: 82), fostering the anticipation of God’s gift, as if their homes were already prepared and waiting for their arrival.”
