Then we say we need up to 10 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide removal (CDR) per year by 2050 because we’re not decarbonizing fast enough.
However, CDR is a limited resource, and we likely won’t be able to get to 10 billion tonnes a year.
If we don’t want to live in a dangerous world, the only parameter we can change is how quickly we decarbonize.
