At the time when I got redpilled, Attack on Titan just had its massive plot twist that revealed the true history of the setting, and that all the characters (and viewers) had been lied to. It was like the viewers themselves were getting redpilled in the context of the show's setting. I was obsessed with the show at the time and I thought "so this is what that would've felt like".
