#Palestine / Historian documents thousands of Israeli War Crimes in Gaza

Dr. Lee Mordechai, a historian, has compiled a comprehensive document, "Bearing Witness to the Israel-Gaza War," containing thousands of sources detailing Israeli war crimes in #Gaza. […] Mordechai flatly rejects the common Israeli claim that the situation in Gaza is not exceptionally dire compared to other wars. His document reveals that the number of children killed in Gaza surpasses the total number of children killed in all global conflicts during the preceding three years. In the first month alone, the number of child deaths in Gaza was ten times higher than the number of children killed in the entire year of the war in Ukraine. The number of journalists killed in Gaza exceeds the number killed during the entirety of World War II. According to an investigation by Yuval Abraham on the "Local Call" website, concerning the AI systems used in the IDF's bombing campaign in Gaza, authorization was given to kill up to 300 civilians in order to target #Hamas leaders. In comparison, according to disclosed documents, the US military's comparable figure was one-tenth—only 30 civilians—and that was in the case of a far greater enemy than Yahya Sinwar, namely Osama Bin Laden. A Wall Street Journal investigation revealed that Israel dropped seven times more bombs on Gaza in the first three months of the war than the US dropped over six years in Iraq. In Israeli detention facilities, 48 detainees died in the past year, compared to nine in the entire 20-year existence of Guantanamo Bay. This comparison is also unfavorable in terms of the number of civilian deaths. Coalition forces in Iraq killed 11,516 civilians over five years, and 46,319 civilians were killed in the 20 years of the war in Afghanistan. According to the most lenient estimates regarding Israel, approximately 30,000 civilians have been killed in Gaza to date.
