So, last night a fire truck showed up in front of our house... but not because anything was wrong here, or with anyone's house, but because one of the trees in one of our neighbor's yards was, despite the 5+ inches of rain, *smouldering* and sending up a plume of smoke.
(Overheard the fire crew say they suspected the tree bent over in the wind & rain and touched the power lines.)
File that one under "things I never thought I'd see."
