The links he posts in Slack don't work, but it looks like Slack is just removing characters from the middle of the string, to shorten it.
I've seen that happen, before, as everyone hates our long, spammy-looking addresses, but usually there's some indication of shortening, like "..." or something.
So, it's a Slack bug, I guess.
