In 1996, Belgian electronic label SSR (a sub-label of Crammed run by Freezone's DJ Morpheus) licensed some of my Mephisto label tracks for a compilation called The Subterranean Sound of San Francisco. Then — they commissioned one of those tracks, "Mess of Afros," for a remix by Mr. Glenn Underground. It was kind of a smash in DJ land, even played by Andrew Weatherall on a BBC Essential Mix.
