I was all happy and lighthearted when my friend called to tell me that her PET scan for a gnarly disease had come back clean. But then my horse guy’s wife called in tears to tell me their sweet old dog had taken a turn and they were on their way to the vet to put her down. The Pit of Angst in my stomach opened right back up. So I guess today’s Day in the Life of Umbrage movie won’t close with a feel-good crane shot of a street party where everyone is dancing to Martha and the Vandellas.
